The Modern Greek Dialects of Albania (MGDA) are spoken in about 100 settlements in Southern Albania, mainly in the regions of Gjirokastra (Upper and Lower Dropull, Pogoni, Mavri Riza), Delvina and Saranda (Vourkos, Highland of Delvino and Theologo).
They are spoken also in two settlements of Përmet and in Himara, Dhërmi (Drymades), Palasa and Narta (near Vlora).
Speakers of MGDA are further located in large urban centers of Albania (mainly in Tirana), of Greece (Athens, Patras, etc.), and of USA (mainly in Massachusetts).
